Stevie is a black and white Shih Tzu. He's around 6 years old and about 15 lbs. He's neutered, are heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly prevention. Stevie is one of the dogs from the Georgia backyard breeding group that arrived in August 2026.

Stevie is learning a whole new world where people are patient, kind, and love him. Like many former breeding dogs, he started out very under-socialized. He's making great strides and shows more of his delightful personality every day.

Stevie is a joyful guy, it doesn't take much to make him happy. He may be blind but this smart gentleman is perfectly capable of following you around the house. He loves to lay by your side on the couch and play a tug-o'-war with a crunchy sounding toy. He has toy preferences, he likes the crunchy toys but he's afraid of squeaky toys.

Stevie likes people and does best with adults and older kids. He's met his foster's grandkids and does best with older kids and teens. Toddlers in walkers are overwhelming, when they visit Stevie relaxes in another room away from the activity.

Stevie is working on house and potty training. He'll follow his foster dog siblings and go potty in a yard but needs belly bands during the day. With patience and a regular schedule, he's continuing to improve. At this point, he doesn't need to sleep with a belly band as he won't mess his sleep space.

Stevie is ready for a patient and loving fur-ever family. He'd do best with adults and teens in his new home. He needs someone who's schedule allows them to give him eye drops a few times a day. He's dog friendly, he'd be fine as a solo dog or with respectful doggie friends. He's met the two outdoor cats and was afraid of them, he'd do best in a cat-free home.
