Princess is a black and tan Dachshund/Chiweenie mix, she is 10 years old and 9 lbs. She is spayed, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly preventatives.
Princess is a darling, cuddly lady who prefers people over everything else. Like many Chihuahuas, she has opinions and is sometimes fussy enough to express them. It's hard when people forget that you're royalty!
Princess wasn't always a princess, you might say her background is more pauper. She was rescued from a hoarding situation a few years back. She lived with another similarly sized dog and a person, unfortunately the person became unable to care for them and Princess came to us.
Princess is working on house and potty training. She isn't leash trained, however, she's been doing well following her foster siblings into the yard for potty time and is working on using potty pads in the house. Given her lack of leash experience, she'd do best with a securely fenced yard so she can continue potty training. A yard will also give her a safe place to explore as she continues to become more confident.
Princess is ready for the sweet life. She'd adore being your one and only diva in the house so she can soak up all of the love and adoration she missed early in life. She doesn't enjoy competing for attention with other female dogs, she could likely tolerate a similarly sized male dog.
Princess's ideal home has a securely fenced yard. One or more people ready to dote upon her. She could tolerate another small male dog, she'd prefer to be an only child. Princess hasn't met any kids or cats, she'd do better in an adult only home or one with dog-savvy teens.
