About Nina:

  • Dog/cat friendly

  • Adults and kids 10+ years

  • Requires 1+ small dog friend

  • Requires a fenced yard

Nina is a Poodle mix with a charming black coat. She's around 4 years old and 8 lbs. She's spayed, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly prevention. Nina is one of the dogs from the Georgia backyard breeding group that arrived in August 2026.

Nina is learning a whole new world where people are patient, kind, and want to love her. Like many former breeding dogs, she's very under-socialized. When it comes to people, she's quite shy and timid. When it comes to other dogs, Nina LOVES doggie friends!

Nina does best with one or more confident, similarly sized, doggie siblings. She's clearly a dog who'd thrive in a pack of friends. Canine companions are the best teachers with Nina, she's an excellent observer and will start to copy what she sees other dogs do.

Speaking of copying other dogs, Nina working on using potty pads and has started to go potty outside in a fenced yard. She's also working on leash training both inside the house and in the yard. She requires a fenced yard in her new home to keep her safe while she continues to acclimate to the big and beautiful world.

Nina's personality has started to expand beyond her initial timidness. She's begun to play with some toys and she's started to collect items to stash in her bed. After several weeks of slow, patient interactions with her loving foster mom, this sweet girl will now occasionally ask for a few short scratches and pets. She's started to show what a sweet and excitable girl she can be, especially when comes to dinner.

Petite Princess Nina needs patient adopters and a home with one or more confident, respectful small dog friends. She's cat friendly and mostly ignores her cat-foster sibling. She's met older children and it's possible that she could be placed with dog-savvy older kids and teens. Her ideal home has securely fenced yard and a regular schedule to continue her house and potty training. She requires at least one dog friend who can show her how to trust her new loving, patient, and kind family.
