Halston is a Lhasa Apso with a handsome white and apricot coat. He's around 24 lbs and recently celebrated his 15th birthday! He's neutered, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly prevention.
Handsome Halston is looking for a soft place for his golden years. He's one of the sweetest gentlemen you'll ever meet. He's always ready to escort you from one room to the next. He'll happily share your snacks, he's a charmer that way.
Halston was surrendered to us when his owner could no longer care for him. He came from a home with several other Lhasa Apsos and appreciates having canine company. His foster reports that he mostly ignores other dogs, unless they get too close to his snacks or invade his napping space. Halston would do fine in a home with doggie siblings, he hasn't met any cats, he also does well with older respectful children.
Halston is working on house and potty. When he's indoors, he does best with a belly band as he's prone to lifting his leg whenever the mood strikes him. If you bring him to the yard, he's happy to do his business outside.
Halston has health issues related to his age and breed. He's on twice daily medication for a cough due to trachea issues, common to Lhasa Apsos. He also has some lumps and bumps of a dog who's lived a full life. This mature gentleman has a zest for the cozy life and a fantastic appetite. We love a senior who eats with enthusiasm!
With that, Halston is prone to chewing on things he shouldn't, including clothes and shoes. Often dogs seek out items that smell the most like us for their comfort, he happens to take it a mouthful further in his enthusiasm. His foster manages this by removing items from his reach to reduce his temptation.
Halston is ready for a fur-ever family and a soft landing in his golden years. He needs loving adopters who are home more often than not and can keep up with his meds His new home needs a fenced yard to help him continue his house and potty training success. Due to his health, he's considered a hospice adoption.
