Bella Rose is a mostly black Shih Tzu mix. She's 4 years old and around 10 lbs. She's spayed, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly preventatives.
Sweet Bella Rose, her owner was sick and she made the hard choice to help her baby find a new home. A kind neighbor offered to care for her while they looked for a rescue. Bella Rose's time with the neighbor shows us just how wonderful and resilient dogs can be. She went from being a solo dog to enjoying the companionship of a corgi and another 55 lb dog, plus children, ages 4-12 years, as well as a baby.
Beautiful Bella Rose adores cozy couch cuddles and naps. She's a friendly girl, though she can be shy when meeting new people, especially men. Her foster has coached visitors to let her come to them when she's ready. She's done well with her foster's grandkids as well, ages 14-19 years.
Bella Rose is now fostered with several similarly sized dogs and she's enjoying her smaller companions. As she's had several transitions in her short life, she'd do best with another confident similarly sized sibling in her new home to show her the ropes. She could likely be placed with a gentle and respectful medium sized dog in a multi-dog household. She's met cats and ignores the resident feline in her foster home.
Bella Rose is doing well with house and potty training. The neighbor who cared for her said that she was doing well at her house, for Bella Rose's safety she was crated when the neighbor had to do errands. She rarely had an accident in the crate. Her foster reported that Bella Rose does best with a regular schedule, she currently goes out every 2-3 hours. When her foster runs errands she has access to potty pads and will use them as a back up.
Bella Rose is a gem of a dog who's ready for her fur-ever family! She's rated for a home with small to medium dogs, cats, and respectful dog-savvy older kids. She's also doing well practicing her harness and leash skills, she'd do best in a home with a securely fenced yard.
