About Major:
Yard optional
Dog, cat friendly
Needs a doggie sibling
Major is a laid back gentleman. Like many Spaniels before him, he enjoys the finer things in life such as a relaxing walk, the tastiest of treats, and lots of quality snuggling. He loves sleeping in the bed and regular exercise, as you'd expect from a Major.
Major does well with other dogs with appropriate introductions and he ignores the resident cat. He does best with at least one other calm dog in the home, preferably female. Having a doggie friend bolsters his confidence and helps him learn the household routine more quickly. Plus, he loves having a walking buddy!
As a gentleman, Major likes to supervise his household. He prefers to have guests give him space when they first arrive so he can inspect them warily from a leisurely distance. He can be a bit of a grumpus gentleman, which means he'll proceed to give his requisite side eye, maybe a bark or two, plus the patented Spaniel look of disapproval. After that, he'll settle back to his supervisory role. If a commotion is enough to disturb his nap or snuggles, he's been known to alert bark and literally huff his disapproval. This often means that the mail has arrived or he's annoyed with a loud car.
Major's ideal home has at least one similarly sized, or smaller, doggie companion, preferably a calmer female. He'd like humans who are home often, this will help continue his potty training success. He'd do well with respectful, dog-savvy older kids and teens. Major walks great on a leash, he doesn't require a yard, though he enjoys having one. He ignores cats and would be fine with a feline companion.
