Maisie

Note: Unsocialized

Gender: Female, fixed

Age: 2 years

Weight: 9 lbs

Breed: Dachshund

Color: Piebald

Requirements for my ideal home:

  • Securely fenced yard

  • Doggie siblings (similarly sized)

  • Adults only

Maisie is a Dachshund with a lovely Piebald coat. She’s around 2 years old and about 9 lbs. she’s spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on her vaccines and preventatives.

Maisie was used for breeding and predominantly socialized with other Dachshunds in her early life. She’s a timid and nervous darling when it comes to humans. Her crate is her safe place. She likes having access to it when life becomes chaotic. Given her size and nervous nature, she’s do best in an adult only home.

Maisie is working on house and potty training. She dislikes collars, harnesses, and leashes but she’ll follow her doggie siblings to the yard to go potty. She’s unfamiliar with the outside world and is scared by strange noises. She’s a flight risk as she’ll run when she panics. Her new home must have a securely fenced yard to help continue her socialization and potty training.

Maisie’s new home must have one or more similarly sized and confident doggy siblings, ideally other Dachshunds or Doxie mixes. She’d do best with humans with breed experience. She needs an understanding family who’s ready to love her, introduce her to this big new world, and show her how to be a dog!
