While dearheart Dixie is a friendly lady to humans, she is a nervous gal in new situations. This sweetheart dislikes thunderstorms. She still learning about the world and prefers to be carried over walking on a leash. She would benefit from continued leash and confidence training to continue her success as a canine citizen. While her foster believes she could tolerate children, it would be best if they were dog savvy and old enough to understand that petite Dixie isn't a toy to be picked up on a whim. It is likely that she'd do best with older teens and adults.

Dixie's ideal home is with adopters who have a more relaxed life style. Her new home should have at least one similarly sized dog who enjoys playing. Dixie could tolerate respectful, dog-savvy children, it is likely she'd do best with older children, teens, or an adult only household. She is feline friendly.
