Gimli is a 5 year old, 6 lb, chihuahua. He heart worm negative, neutered, up to date on his vaccines as well as his monthly preventative medications.
Gimli is an absolute cutie at 6lbs. He has been in his foster home for two months. He has recently had a breakthrough and has shown what a great dog he can be! When Gimli is comfortable with his people and you have gained his trust, he is a sweet little love bug that loves to cuddle on the couch, play, give kisses, and gobble up some treats.
If Gimli is properly introduced, he loves to make new friends. He prefers when people give him space and they allow him to approach when he is ready. He can show a bit of a Chihuahua-gremlin stereotype, crate training has been helping this in his current foster home.
When Gimli trusts you, he is willing to let you gently pick him up. He does not enjoy being unnecessarily handled or carried unless he initiates it. However, as you can see from his pictures, when you are friends you can hold him like the baby he is.
Gimli previously lived with a couple, he has been known to resource guard his preferred person. His current foster home is with a couple and with intentional training this has not been an issue. He is doing great in a two person home.
Gimli prefers the company of adults and we recommend he go to an adult only home. Gimli does well with other dogs and in a previous home got along with cats. He is capable of being a solo dog or living with fur-siblings.
